IN HELL
You will lift up your eyes being in torment
Who is Jesus Christ really? And what did He really say about your Soul?
God, guns, guts and Isaiah 53:12

Did the Lord Jesus Christ ever teach His followers that they had a "right" from Him to commit acts of violence against other people in self-defense?
Did our Lord Jesus Christ ever teach anywhere in the Gospels or the New Testament as a whole that His followers, reborn of the Holy Spirit into His Spiritual Kingdom and recreated into His Image were to keep and bear arms against other people?
Did our Lord Jesus Christ even one time throughout the New Testament excuse, condone, encourage or command physical violence against any other human being for any reason?
Did our Lord Jesus Christ ever in any instance personally defend himself from those whom intended or caused Him physical harm?
The answers to all four questions above is emphatically NO! Search the Scriptures my friends because He most certainly did not in any way, shape or form. Quite the opposite is what He actually lived by example and taught. The proof text that is consistently misused to support this idea of self-defense being "authorized" by the Lord for His followers is Luke 22:36-40.

Luke 22: 36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Please consider that this passage in Luke means something far more important to His Ministry and was the fulfillment of yet another Prophesy concerning Him. This passage has everything to do with the circumstances surrounding His arrest at Gethsemane and has nothing to do with self defense. That misconception is a glaring contradiction, negating our Lord's clear and distinct teachings in the Gospels and the remainder of the New Testament. Consider our Lord's Words "it is enough". Enough for what is the question we must come to grips with. Would two swords logically present a defense for 12 men?

In the Gospel of Matthew our Lord gives us another view of this point in our Lord's Ministry. Note His rebuke of Peter at the use of one of these swords in self defense:

Matthew 26: [48] Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
[49] And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
[50] And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
[51] And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
[52] Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
[53] Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
[54] But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
The swords merely made the arrest of our Lord legal under Roman law as an "armed" insurrection fulfilling Isaiah 53: 9-13. Correlate the verbiage our Lord uses in Luke 22 to the fulfilling of Isaiah's Prophecy concerning His arrest.
Isaiah 53: [7] He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
[8] He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
[9] And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
[10] Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
[11] He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
[12] Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Our Lord was to be numbered with the transgressors. Using these swords in self defense was obviously not our Lord's intent. He did not come here the first time to destroy men's lives, but to save them. We are commanded to be like Him in these matters and point men to the Savior, not to destroy men's lives.
Remember our Lord taught: That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Those who take up the sword will perish for eternity with the Sword according to our Lord Jesus Christ quoted above. Those who take up the sword are like the un-regenerate Peter in the garden of Gethsemane. They may be close to His Kingdom but something is keeping them from surrender to the Holy Spirit. Remember when our Lord Jesus interacted with the rich, young ruler? Similar to others our Lord came across in the Gospels whom claimed that they wanted to believe; some even believed that they believed for a short time but then no longer walked with our Lord as His Teachings continued. Something of this world like bearing arms or increasing wealth in this temporary life HOLDS them back from true and saving belief. They lacked one thing according to our Lord. In other words, they could not be made perfect in His Sight because they held something back in their hearts.
In our end days of which we live now, the vast multitudes that claim the name "christian" are never taught Christ's Teachings as the central doctrine of the New Testament and the only true evidence of salvation. His Teachings go against their false gospels and false Christs whom they have created. Many are deceived into believing being a born again christian has to do with an incantation they recited, a confessional prayer as it were with the follow-on declaration from some man that they just got saved from eternal hell. Then that lie is repeatedly reinforced by these men.
These poor people are convinced by men that they are (based solely on their confessional) now followers of Christ or Christians without any transparency of knowledge nor any desire to follow His teachings nor His Commandments. They were instructed in a cheap and counterfeit "gospel" message that is unrecognizable to our Lord. This falling away from true faith allows these individuals to keep all the cares of this temporary life but still claim they are born again. Born again into what is the question? Another Adam? But this time it is a cleaned up and presentable Adam complete with religious ritual and schedules. To God however, these are weeds among His true wheat.

Let go of your temporary "life" down here "christian". It is not your own anymore for you are bought with a price and that price was not free as you suppose and are constantly lied to about. Whatever happens to you in this fake world of Satan it was brought on by sin which enslaves the lost. Whomever attacks you physically during your New Life in Christ will be dealt with later by God far more comprehensively than you could possibly perform or even fathom. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

The nonreligious of the world rejects following Christ because they count the earthly cost of doing so and will not surrender all. They seem to know what following Christ actually does mean according to God and they are honestly not ready nor interested in it until calamity comes in their lives that is. Sadly many whom name the Name of Christ have done the exact same thing in their hearts but have been brainwashed by a weed-making, cost-counted, counterfeit "gospel" prevalent in these last days. These are ashamed of some or all of Christ's Teachings but through repetitive brainwashing still somehow consider themselves "christian".
Is a self described communist still a communist if they reject tenets of Marxism?
Is a self described Buddhist still a Buddhist if they reject the tenets of Buddhism?
Is a self described patriot still a patriot if they reject some of the Bill of Rights?
You get the point. As our Lord warned us repeatedly in the end there would be almost no real followers of Him left in the world. He asked this question rhetorically: When the Son of Man comes back, will He find faith on the earth?

The issue of self-defense is by far the most revealing for weeds whom have placed their trust actually in the blind guides whom instruct them and not in the Lord Jesus Christ. They are being remade into that man's image and not our Lord Jesus Christ. Listen carefully my friends for your eternal well being because an almost "christian" is a vessel of dishonor to the Lord. All who bear the sword deny the Lord who bought them. These are those whom mind earthly things and not the Will of God and bring about their own destruction.

Just like Peter denied the Lord the very next day after Gethsemane three times to the authorities of the day. These false "christians" or weeds deny the Lord Jesus Christ every single time they ignore or relegate His Teachings to the backdrop. As with Peter, this indicates that his heart was on the temporary and he did not have the Spirit of Christ therefore was not yet born again by the Spirit of the Lord. The apostle's new births came when our Lord breathed the Holy Spirit upon them just before His Ascension. Some three years after they met our Lord and sat under all of His Teachings, they finally got it and understood in their hearts: Jesus gave His physical life for mine, now I crucify my physical life for Him. God's Word is consistent and one thing that we can be sure of is that Peter no longer counted the cost of his belief in Christ after his rebirth. Peter never imagined taking up the sword again.
If born of the Spirit a person then wants to follow the Savior in all things. Denying self, turning the other cheek, praying for their enemies, giving to all who ask without stipulation or caveat. If this is not the desire of your heart how on earth can you believe that you have the Spirit of Christ?

There are hundreds of completely ignored passages contained in the Gospels that describes what salvation results in for a true believer, I will only quote a small portion from only the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew with the prayer others may understand. This list is reiterated throughout the New Testament Books. Our Lord used the Apostle Paul to reiterate His direct teachings in the Gospels as much as He used the writers of the General Epistles. The Book of Romans is ironically plucked out of context and twisted into Bad Seed by the unlearned and unstable more than any other Book of the Bible. Yet throughout it is full of our Lord's Gospel teachings. Romans chapter 12 reiterates the Sermon on the Mount nearly line for line. Another example of many is in Galatians, chapter 5 (fruits of the Spirit).

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Those that are not - won't be there (there is NEVER a middle ground with God). His spits out the lukewarm.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Those that are not - won't

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Those that are not - won't

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Those that are not - won't be called that

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Those that are not won't see the Kingdom of Heaven
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also."
There is not and will not be any time in your remaining physical life where it is OK to resist evil or disobey any of our Lord's commands.

Matthew 5: 16. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. v 19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Here is the revealing part you need to study before it is too late. It is all in the context of the Sermon on the Mount.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? The Lord clearly states to turn the other cheek. So if your pastor or commentary says you can defend yourself and carry arms; does that match in any way what our Lord says? Of course not and below is what the Lord says about these men (ravening wolves):

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. The good fruit is the context of this passage which is the Sermon on the Mount.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Many gainsayers in the last days have built huge followings of their own making. Bad fruit bearing bad fruit. Don't confuse their seeming success and high numbers with any blessing from God. Their success is the same as any corporation using marketing to build numbers. None of it comes from God.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
I recommend caution when declaring your rights to defend yourself, your family and your home. You are supposed to be the salt of the earth if you claim Christ as Savior. The example of what a Spiritually awakened person is to the world. A new man after Christ's Example in their hearts. You and I were saved to become the exact opposite of what everyone else is in the world. Relying solely on the Holy Spirit and Word of God to swallow our pride and self worth and machismo picking up the Cross and being crucified with Him.

Listen folks for the sake of your eternal life, do not continue to confuse your citizenship under the US Constitution with your citizenship in Christ's Spiritual Kingdom on earth during this age. They have nothing to do with each other. Although most claim we are instilled with God-given rights under the government, where does God actually present these rights to anyone? Our Lord never made any claim of the sort but quite the opposite actually. He said the governments would hate us and oppress us and persecute us. He never said the governments of Satan would protect His People. These are all the constructs of man's vain imaginations. Our Lord clearly taught us that the rulers, the rich of the world would only oppress, enslave and draw us before their judgement seats. America is a blip in history spanning roughly 250 years. Were you ever truly "free" or was it all merely an illusion of freedom? Recent world events should be opening your eyes to the truth of rich men and government. Life on earth has always been the richest one percent ruling over and oppressing the common 99%. Wake up people.

No one needs to be taught or encouraged to defend themselves or their homes and families. The natural man knows exactly how to do that and does it by fleshly instinct. Jesus teaches clearly that His people are to turn their backs on their fleshly instincts and be like Him. He came to show us what we were originally intended to be by God before Adam's fall. Remember the Words of our Lord and do your best to forget the preacher and commentary doctrines you have been raised on.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. The Spirit of Christ is painstakingly revealed to all of us in the Gospels.

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? We need to all ask ourselves daily whether our new life and the church we attend are built on the solid ROCK of Christ's direct teachings or on the sinking sand of wolves in sheep's clothing doctrine.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

Carrying a pistol with the intent in your heart to shoot someone in self defense is not Bible Christianity PERIOD.

We were not spared eternal torment to continue to live under Adam's fallen ways and heart. The Gospel results in the exact opposite desires to now live under Christ's Ways and heart.

If we truly believe the Gospel, we must then follow the Gospel and strive through the Word and prayer unto Christ-likeness.

Oh I know the God, guns, guts religion is much easier on the flesh but it is not Christ's way in ANY WAY.
Jesus said be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only; deceiving yourselves.
