Understanding the Three Part God; His Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit:

This article will demonstrate from the context of His Word the Trinity of God and how significant this understanding of Him is throughout all of Scripture. He is the GODHEAD: Transliterated as THEOS or where the word "Theology" comes from. The Trinity of the Godhead is shown clearly and is understood by all the creatures and creations He made.

This study will describe His Eternal Power and Godhead From Himself, to His Creation, to man, to His Perfect act in the Gospel and onto our Redemption and Perfection: To be made perfect in God’s Eyes (His Great Commission to us whom believe and follow Him):

Understanding the Godhead; His Trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit:

Acts.17[29] Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

Rom.1[20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

THE FATHER SURROUNDS ALL THINGS: The Son is His Soul, His personality and His Mind; while the Holy Spirit is His Spirit. The Father never took physical form but His Personality (Soul) did:

John.1: [18] No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

1Timothy 6: [16] Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

1John 4: [12] No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Why? Because Jehovah is a Spirit:

John 4: 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God the Father is JEHOVAH GOD, our Lord Jesus Christ is HIS IMAGE:

Colossians 1: [13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

[14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

[15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

[16] For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

[17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

[18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

[19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

God the Father has shown HIMSELF to all the world in the form of and as Jesus. Jesus is Whom God the Father truly is (His personality):

Three Characteristics of the FATHER:

God the Father is a Spirit surrounding all things and is everywhere or OMNIPRESENT: All powerful or OMNIPOTENT, and ALL knowing or OMNISCIENT:

He is everywhere at once, He sees everything all the time, His power is without human comprehension nor explanation. He exists outside of time and sees all events over His Creation as He Wills without any constraint of time. He created time for man’s use setting forth His physical principles on earth and in the heavens to provide man with the instruments to gauge time.

Jeremiah 23:24 Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.

Psalms 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Psalms 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

Hebrew 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

The Trinity of Trinities revealed in Creation:

God who has always existed displays His Godhead in all of His Creation. God is a Spirit and is not bound by any of His Creation principles. If He were bound by these principles then He would not be God.

In order for anything to exist it is dependent upon three elements: Time, space and matter.

These three elements are considered by all in the scientific community be to a continuum fully dependent of all three for any one to exist. In other words, all three elements must come into existence simultaneously in order for any or all three to exist. Consider this:

If there were both matter and time without space where could this matter exist?

If there were both space and matter without time then when could these exist?

If there were both space and time without matter than what exists?

So you see it is impossible for these three elements to exist independent of each other because all three are totally dependent upon the other two to exist at all. Therefore all three must have come into existence at the SAME TIME.

God's Word opens to this exact discussion:

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning (TIME), God created the heavens (SPACE) and the earth (MATTER).

These three elements in Creation reflect the Trinity of God (The GodHead). These three elements are each in themselves a trinity so these three elements are a Trinity of Trinities:

Time: past, present and future – Trinity

Space: length, width, height – Trinity

Matter: solid, liquid, gas – Trinity

This Trinity of Trinities was created by the Word of God simultaneously and instantly. A little later in the Book of Genesis we are taught that God made all three of these elements for us (man).

Our Creator exists both outside and inside His Creation and can move freely throughout all time, space and matter at all times and at any time. He is unbounded by any of His Creation. Now, take your laptop computer for instance. It was designed and created by a man but that man is not bound inside the device. That man does not make the images and data appear and change on your screen. He created it but is not bound by it.

So understand the reality of God and His Creation my friends. You do not exist within His Creation to ignore Him. He allowed your beginning to see if you would acknowledge Him in all things, walk and talk with Him in reverence and worship as YOUR CREATOR.

On a side note for those whom fail to see the only reason why they exist to begin with. If your brain is simply a collection of chemicals formed by chance over billions of years how can you possibly trust your own reasoning processes or the thoughts you think?  **Institute for Creation Research/Kent Hovind

God's Image and personality is also referred to as HIS Word (His Living Word) and HE (our Lord Jesus Christ) spoke the worlds into existence:

Genesis 1: 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry [land] appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry [land] Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that [it was] good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, [and] the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed [is] in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, [and] herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed [was] in itself, after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that [it was] good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that [it was] good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Psalms 33: 8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

9 For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

Jesus, the Son, the Soul of God and God the Father specifically:

I Corinthians 8: [3] But if any man love God, the same is known of him.

[4] As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

[5] For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

[6] But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Man: Spirit, soul and body:

The threefold nature of mankind reflects to a degree, the Triune nature of the Godhead. Just as each member of the Triune God is complete and wholly God, yet distinct. So each aspect of man is also the whole, yet distinct. The Body of man comprises the entire man, yet he also possesses a soul with emotions, memories and personality and finally the Spirit when quickened back to life by our faith in Christ makes man wholly and complete in God or PERFECT once again in God’s Eyes.

As our bodies surround and contain our souls and spirits: So does God the Father surround all things and contains His Soul (Jesus) and His Spirit.

I Peter 1: [2] Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Can you see how He exists and works as the Great Three in One just as He made us to exist and work as three in one. This is our PERFECTION in God's Eyes. Perfection = Complete in Him = BLAMELESS to God:

1Cor.1[8] Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Phil.2[15] That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

1Thes.5[23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Trinity and Perfect Act of the Gospel:

I Cor 15: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

His Perfect Sacrifice for us represents:

-Death to the old man

-Burial of the old man

-Resurrection into the New Man

The Trinity of the our Redemption and Perfection: To be made perfect in God’s Eyes:

The Perfect Act of our Redemption is in three parts and NOTICE how our redemption is also demonstrated in what is commonly called the "great commission". IE, belief, demonstrated by baptism, being made perfect by sanctification (or Conform-ation). Both a fact of the Bible and at the same time a major mystery to most, even most professing salvation.

1. Death to the old man = teach all nations (what? repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ) Christ's first words to the first crowd were "Repent, for the Kingdom of God (or Heaven) is at hand".

2. Burial of the old man = Baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost

3. Resurrection of the new man = Teaching them all things He commanded, IE losing their earthly life to be conformed into the image of His Son.

Please don't misunderstand by thinking three steps. I am not stating three steps to salvation. I am stating all three parts must be present if true faith exists in the heart. IE, it is not real unless all three agree in one. None of the three can stand alone and be real. Just as we already discovered in God's Creation with time, space and matter.

All three are needed as ONE to be real. In other words, what I am stating is for those who truly believe, they will demonstrate by baptism following our Lord’s example and will truly receive all that Christ taught with an open heart and willingness to obey.

The problem within the commercial churches of these last days is a partial Gospel. One that leaves out one or two parts of the three in one completely. THEREFORE CAN NEVER MAKE THE COMERS PERFECT IN GOD’S EYES.

I John 5:7: For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. This is a direct reference to the true Gospel (great commission).

The blood = Belief

The water = Baptism

The Spirit = sanctification (conforming into the image of His Son)

Jesus Christ Himself is the one who came by water and by blood—not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. The Spirit bears witness to this, for the Spirit is the truth. The witness therefore is a triple one—the Spirit in our own hearts, the signs of the water of baptism and the blood of atonement—and they all say the same thing as a triple testimony.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (No conforming = not real)

Roman 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The "great commission" as men put it is in fact the Perfect Gospel itself.

I John 5: 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

Remember this: Christ's Birth provided real life to all who want it.

Christ's Death ended death for all whom believe on and Trust Only in Him.

The Spirit through His Word reveals this to all who seek God’s Truth:

He bears witness.

Christ's Blood was the final sacrifice for all who trust only in Him and His sacrifice for us.

Trinity of Perfect Redemption: TO BE COMPLETE IN HIM:

Faith is always demonstrated to God by a true believer. Reference the hall of fame of faith in Hebrews, Chapter 11.

Matt.5[48] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matt.19[21] Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect (on your own merits), go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Luke.6[40] The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Luke.8[14] And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

John.17[23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Rom.12[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2Cor.13[9] For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

Gal.3 [3] Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Eph.4[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Col.1[28] Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Col.3 [14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Heb.6[1] Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Heb.7[11] If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?[19] For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Heb.10[14] For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Heb.12[23] To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

1Pet.5[10] But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

1John.2[5] But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Hebrews 10:15 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

"Unless one is born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” Jesus is having a conversation with Nicodemus, who is a Pharisee. He is speaking in relation to the Pharisee’s teaching "to be born of water meant to be born physically". Proof of this is Nicodemus’ remark to Jesus asking if someone can go back into the womb while he is old. Nicodemus thought to be born again meant a physical birth. Jesus then proceeds to say, “Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus, who was a Pharisee, believed like the other Jews that because he was born a Jew he would automatically enter into the kingdom of God. Jesus reproves him clearly.
